Obituary

Hamilton Godfrey Brathwaite better known as “Brad” and to some.
“Brother Hamilton” was born on the island of Barbados.
The youngest of three children, his mother died when he was six months old. Godfrey and his siblings were raised by his aunt Elsie Brathwaite.
Godfrey migrated to the United States at the age of 19, where he entered Burke Trade School and graduated as a Plumber. He worked for the Plumbing Union, the Transit Authority, and as a general contractor.
Godfrey met and married Lastana Gordon in 1966. From this union 4 children were born. Two preceded him in death; the late Dawn and James Brathwaite.
He was a spirit-filled man, who loved life, his family and people, but above all, he loved and served the Lord. He was untiring. He gave of himself and expressed compassion and helped those in need.
Godfrey answered the call to eternal rest on May 24th, 2000. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Lastana one son Jeffrey Brathwaite of Atlanta Georgia, Daughter; Sharon Brathwaite of Los Angeles California, Aunt Elsie Brathwaite, one sister; Monica Brathwaite, brother; Kenrick Brathwaite, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, and a host of family and friends.
He will be missed and remembered of ever. Godfrey is at peace with our Father who art in Heaven.
